A few things | Wish List

It has been a while since I have done a wish list post.  Trust me, I want things all the time, but I have just decided not to post every little thing.  We have been pretty busy, Kevin’s fall season has started, I have been back to work and still trying to figure out my blog schedule.  We are still dealing with the house stuff, and that is a huge stress.  I can’t even begin to explain.  Pretty much, my biggest wish is to get into our house.  We have the house under contract, but we cannot move in yet because we need to sell out current home.  We are now looking into other options with our townhome.  Has anyone else dealt with real estate lately?  Not fun!!!  Even though I have mentioned this before, it still applies.  I want to move into this house!

I try not to question why this isn’t easy for us, and why we can’t get in there yet, but I know not to question the timing God has for us.  For some reason we are not to move in yet, and I will accept that.

Something else I want is this…

How great is this apothecary cabinet?   Have you ever been to Sleep Poet Antique mall?  It is amazing!  We will go from time to time to walk around when we have some time.  I love this place, love it!  It is huge and you need a lot of time to walk around.  It is on South Blvd.  Anyway, we always find something we want. Once it was a table, some Louis Vuitton luggage, knives (that would be Kevin) salt and pepper shakers, and the list goes on.  We saw this and I just thought of 100 things and places to put this.  It was close to $500.00, so it stayed there.  I still think about it, and would like to find one someday.

The last thing I want is fall weather.  I am beyond ready for cool crisp weather.  I want to wear boots, sweaters, scarves, tights and leggings, and all the fall attire.  Plus my summer color is fading fast and there is no need to show as much skin.  I want to go on walks with a sweatshirt, and slip on my Uggs to take Mona outside because it is chilly.

More time | Wish list

I may cry as I type this.  This is the time of year I really despise.  It is the time of year that seems so far away when I am elated around June 10th.  That’s right, it’s the start of the school year aka I have to go back to work.  I love my summers.  I wish I had more time.  I am very lucky to have this time, so to anyone reading this thinking, “you have all summer off” I say to you, “you too could have become a teacher!”  My summer has been great!  No we haven’t moved into our house yet which I was hoping would happen, but I have decided that it is just God’s way of saying “not now, but when the time is right” and I’m okay with that.  I am happy to have nice place to live.  (Which is for sale btw!!!)  I have slept in, and stayed up late.  I’ve gone to the pool, got to hang out with my besties, and started my blog!  I’ve spent time with a certain bulldog, and have had days where I didn’t get out of lounge clothes.  (I had a lot of those days, don’t judge).  I have gone days without makeup or doing anything to my hair.  I’ve done pilates when I felt like it and took a nap when I didn’t.  I visited Bryson City twice, which wasn’t enough, and had the best time with Kelly and the family.  I saw Zac Brown, and Harry Potter.  I received our Ray LaMontagne tickets.  I drank some wine and my fair share of gin and grapefruit.  I have spent time with Kevin.  I watered my plants but they died anyway.  I celebrated special birthday’s and had a photo shoot.  I missed my husband when he was out of town.  I bought shoes.

I’ve had a good summer, I’m actually smiling right now.  And, we got to go to Tybee.  I  so missed spending this time with my sister and her family, but this will be the last year we don’t go together you hear me Carnes family!  Instead we spent time with the Hills and I so loved that too.  I hope to share more pictures soon.

Oh, so after all that the only thing on my wish list is more summer….

Keurig | Wish list

So today instead of listing all of my wants, I will talk about one of our most recent purchases.  It has been on the wish list for a while, but just one of those things we never bought.  This would be a Keurig machine.  We are a coffee drinking family.  We have a perfectly good coffee pot, so this was the main reason we haven’t rushed out to buy one of these coffee pod machines.  (Kevin and I are REALLY good at spending money, but we do try to be cautious when it comes to our wants.  But, we had a gift card to Sur La Table so it was settled).  Here’s the story…Once upon a Saturday morning, we were in the kitchen making coffee, however this particular day I was going to fix a different type of coffee and Kevin said “Whoa,whoa,whoa! Why art thou making that coffee?  Why, when we have this we both do drink?”  (Actually he doesn’t talk like that but I just watched an episode of Drew Carey’s Improv-a-ganza and was feeling funny) he actually said, “Do I have to drink that?”  So the conversation started about the Keurig.  We knew there were all types of coffees and teas so it was settled.  Off we went and came home with this…

We love it, and love all the choices of coffee, hot chocolate, and teas.  And you can also use your own coffee by filling up the little cup that comes with the machine.

 

You can make a cup of coffee in about 30 seconds, so this is so convenient.

We just put the old coffee maker away for a while, but will still use it if we have company, or need to make a whole pot of coffee.

Anyone else have a Keurig, or similar machine?  Anyone else watch Drew Carey’s Improv-a-ganza? You should. 

Shoes | Wish list

Hello!  Today is all about shoes!  Today is all about the shoes I want!  Today I will fight the urge to go out and buy shoes! Today I will post pictures of shoes instead.  I want, want, want, these shoes, when you see them you will too!  Up first…

Who’s with me? I love a wedge, and they are a great alternative to a heel.  I would wear these to work, out to dinner, to Target, anywhere.  These are Steve Madden, and currently on sale at Nordstrom for $86.90.

I love boots.  I don’t know many people who don’t.  I want a pair of Frye boots, and have for quite some time.  Kevin has a pair and loves them!  I can’t decide which style I would want, so here are a few.

Love the heel. These are $398.00.  (Ouch)

These are just like Kevin’s, so we would be “that” couple with matching shoes….whatever, I like them for me too.  These are better than the boots above at a whopping $ 238.00.

Or maybe I should go with the…

classic cowboy boot.  These are $268.00. So, we shall see if I am able to score a pair of these.  Fingers crossed!

Up next are the fun shoes. My sister also likes these, and I have a feeling you will too.

A few things | Wish list

Here we are again with the things I want.  I really love Wednesday, because I always want things.  On to the list.

I really want a sewing machine.  I want to learn to sew in a bad way.  I am going to attempt to teach myself, but I know I can get some assistance from my mother in law.  I found this one on Amazon, and it is a basic machine.  No need to spend hundreds of dollars on something that will probably frustrate me.  Anybody have advice on a good machine, or even tips on learning to sew?  I would appreciate it!

I found these rings on Pinterest.  I think they are so pretty and unusual.  They are a bit expensive so this may stay on the list for a while.  Do you visit Pinterest?  You can follow me on Pinterest and see all the things I have been pinning.

And finally a leather wrap watch.  I love this one, but I have seen a ton that I like.  This is also from Pinterest.  Did I mention I live Pinterest?  I definitely think I will get a wrap watch before too long.  It has been on my mind.

Those are the items for this week.  I have bought a few things this past week though…2 new Essie colors, and an Essie top coat that makes any polish matte.  I also bought a sample pack from Ulta with a foundation primer, eyeshadow primer, mascara, and lip gloss.  My sidekick Vanessa also got the same pack, and some Essie colors too.  Can’t pass up buy 2 get one free on polish!

A few items…| Wish list

If you read last week’s post you saw that I wanted some Essie Nail Polish in Chinchilly.  I found some at Target and now own Chinchilly.  I love it….

This is what I have on my mind this week…

Kevin and I haven’t gotten away at all this summer, and I really want to.  I would be happy to go anywhere, but if money were no issue I would want to go here.

To Greece.  Or a Mediterranean cruise.  It look so beautiful and I want to go!  Has anyone ever been?

This next one may be more on Kevin’s wish list because he brought it up…

Another American Bulldog puppy.  We want a male this time, and saw these from the same place we got Mona.  We remember how hard it is to have a pup, and are trying to sell our house so we may have to wait a bit.  Which brings me to the big one…

From the looks of it I doubt I will have an update for you next week, but you never know, crazier things have happened.

A few items…|wish list

This is a fun topic for me, as I am really good at wanting things.  I have to stop myself from shopping, as I am really good at spending money.  This will be therapeutic for me because I will tell you all about the things I see and stay out of the store.   (Kevin, bookmark this page on your computer please!)

Not all of my items are expensive for example,

Essie Nail Polish in Chinchilly $8.00. You can get Essie polish at the drug store, Target, really anywhere, but I check out Ulta because you can get lucky with bogo deals.

Also at Ulta,   this Hot Tools 3 Barrel waver.  Right now it is on sale for $35.99.  Are you asking yourself if I’m gonna go get it?  Stay tuned.

Now for the big one.  Anyone know Halston Heritage?  I love almost all of the clothes.  I have loved this one for a long time.

It is a whopping $585.00.  I have seen it in other colors as well.  Orange was my favorite.

I wore a Halston Heritage for my rehearsal dinner.  Okay, it was a copy, but I love it!

That would be me in the middle with the peach dress.  Everyone else, well those are my girls…Mistie, Amanda, Shawna, Kelly, Erin, Allison, and Vanessa.
